Skin grafting is only possible when vitiligo is no longer spreading. Treatment is not performed on patients with active vitiligo as wounds may trigger new patches.
The graft site settles after at least 3 days and is secure after one week. Avoid sweating, exercise is allowed after 3 days, and abstain from alcohol for 7 days.
Avoid scrubbing with rough towels or exfoliating gloves. Do not forcibly remove scales. Skin irritation or damage worsens psoriasis.
Consuming 80g of alcohol daily increases psoriasis risk by 2.2 times. Smoking more than a pack a day doubles the risk of flare-ups. Quitting both is essential.
